VC99 True RMS Auto Range Multimeter, Analog Bar, NCV

The VC99 is the 6000-count general-purpose model of the VC98 auto-range series. It pairs a 6000-count display with an analog bar for watching changing signals, and covers DC voltage to 1000V at ±(0.5%+5), current to 20A, capacitance to 60mF and frequency to 10MHz. NCV, True RMS, Max/Min, REL and duty cycle are standard.

Choosing within the series

Against the VC97A, the VC99 has a 6000-count display instead of 4000, an analog bar display, and capacitance to 60mF instead of 40mF; the other functions match. Against the VC87, the VC99 keeps NCV and runs on two AAA cells, while the VC87 drops NCV and adds VSD voltage measurement, frequency to 30MHz and a 9V battery. Pick the VC87 only if you work on variable frequency drives.
