VC87 True RMS Multimeter, 10kHz Response, VFD Mode

The VC87 is the VC98-series multimeter for variable frequency drive work. Its VSD-V (TRMS) function measures inverter output voltage on 6V to 750V ranges at ±(2.0%+10). It reads 6000 counts with an analog bar, and adds frequency to 30MHz and an AC frequency response specified as 50Hz~5kHz and 5kHz~20kHz.

Choosing within the series

The VC87 is the only VC98 auto-range model with VSD measurement and a 30MHz frequency range. It does not have NCV, which the VC97A and VC99 both include. The VC99 is the closest general model: 6000 counts, analog bar, NCV, capacitance to 60mF and two AAA cells. The VC97A is the 4000-count option without an analog bar.
