Digital Hygrometers: Indoor and Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometers
Digital thermo-hygrometers show temperature and relative humidity together. Built-in sensor models measure the room they sit in, external sensor models read a second location through a probe cable, and dual temperature models show indoor and outdoor readings side by side.

How to Choose Thermo-Hygrometers
All nine models share the same measuring range, -50℃ to 70℃ and 10% to 99%RH, so the choice comes down to where the sensor sits and a few display details.
- Where you need the reading: for the room the meter stands in, choose a built-in sensor model: 288-CTH, 230-CTH or CTH-608. To watch a cabinet, incubator, cellar or greenhouse from outside it, choose a model with an external temperature and humidity sensor on a 2m cable: 288A-CTH, 230A-CTH or CTH-608A.
- Indoor plus outdoor: 288B-CTH, 230B-CTH and CTH-609 show indoor temperature and humidity and outdoor temperature on one screen. The outdoor probe reads temperature only.
- Removable or fixed cable: the 230 and 288 versions use a removable sensor cable, which is easier to pass through a small opening. CTH-608A and CTH-609 have a fixed cable.
- Comfort index: the 230 and 288 models show a comfort index; the CTH-608, CTH-608A and CTH-609 do not. The 230 and 288 pairs have the same printed specifications, so pick between them by housing style.
- What accuracy to expect: temperature is ±1.0℃ and humidity ±5% or ±10% depending on the range, with a reading every 10 seconds. That suits homes, offices, storerooms and greenhouses. All models add a clock, calendar, alarm clock and max/min record and run on one AAA battery. For fridge and freezer monitoring with a probe, see refrigerator thermometers.
