AC-4 Overview
Dual Sensitivity Modes:
Low Sensitivity: Detects AC voltage from 48V to 1000V
High Sensitivity: Detects AC voltage from 12V to 1000V
LCD Digital Display: Real-time voltage indication with clear visual readout
Audible & Visual Alarm: Integrated buzzer and LED indicator for immediate hazard alert
Live/Neutral Wire Identification: Accurately distinguishes between live (phase) and neutral conductors
Breakpoint Detection: Locates open circuits or broken conductors in wiring systems
Built-in LED Flashlight: Provides illumination for low-light working environments
Auto Power-Off: Energy-saving function automatically shuts down the device after period of inactivity
The AC-4 is a non-contact voltage detector pen with an LCD. Like the AC-3 it detects 50Hz/60Hz AC voltage at AC 48~1000V by default or AC 12~1000V after pressing the S key, and it also shows the signal on screen.
Key features
- Two sensitivity settings: AC 48~1000V (low) and AC 12~1000V (high)
- LCD display plus sound and light alarm
- Live wire identification by signal light, LCD analog bar and backlight color
- Breakpoint detection to locate open circuits in wiring
- White LED flashlight; auto power off after approx. 5 minutes with no operation and no signal
- Low battery symbol on screen; 2 x 1.5V AAA; use at 0~40°C and below 2000m; safety rating CAT.III 1000V
Applications
Live/dead checks on sockets, switches and cables, telling live from neutral, and finding the break point in a cable run.
Choosing within the series
The AC-4 and the AC-3 share the same two sensitivity ranges, breakpoint detection, torch and 5-minute auto power off. The difference is the display: the AC-3 uses LED indicators, while the AC-4 adds an LCD analog bar and backlight color for live wire identification, and shows low battery as a screen symbol. The AC II has a single AC 90~1000V range with LED indication. The AC-1 is a basic neon screwdriver tester.
