LX-107 Overview

LX-107 solar power meter is for testing solar installation, which is mainly used in solar radiation measurement, solar research, physics and optical laboratories, identification of high-performance windows, in meteorology, agriculture, industry and wide applications.

The LX-107 is a handheld solar power meter for measuring solar irradiance. Solar installers, researchers and lab staff use it to record how much sunlight reaches a surface, in W/m² up to 2000 W/m² or in BTU up to 634 BTU/(ft²×h). Accuracy is ±10 W/m² or ±5%, whichever is larger, and the sensor is cosine corrected to within 5% for angles below 60°.

Key features

  • 2000 W/m² or 634 BTU/(ft²×h), switchable units
  • Accuracy ±10 W/m² or ±5% (larger value); temperature coefficient ±0.38 W/m²/°C away from 25°C
  • Built-in compass on the sensor for orienting measurements
  • Peak hold, Max/Min and data hold
  • Drift below ±3% per year; overload shown as OL
  • Low battery indication, auto power off, 9V (6F22) battery

Applications

Solar radiation measurement, solar installation surveys, solar energy research, physics and optics laboratories, evaluating high-performance window glass, meteorology and agriculture.

Choosing within the series

The LX-107 is the only irradiance meter in the Vici range. The LX-1332B and LX-1334B measure visible illuminance in lux for lighting work, not solar energy. To check what a PV panel produces under the measured irradiance, pair the LX-107 with the VC108PV solar MPPT meter.
